Mother Teresa Middle School is honoring the “calls to action” in real and authentic ways. The Buffalo Boys Drumming Group team is focusing on building positive relationships that acknowledge the brokenness that exists today because of residential schools. One of the ways the team at MTMS is addressing this movement is by helping their students identify with their culture in a positive way through drumming and First nation dance. The teachings are done in a manner that helps the student to build a positive identity and confidence in themselves. When Mother Teresa Middle School students are out in the community performing, they are exemplifying what a healthy lifestyle embedded in First Nation culture looks like. We are pleased to welcome the Mother Teresa Middle School Buffalo Boys and their leader, Evan Whitestar, who is the student support assistant at Mother Teresa Middle School.
